Hailing from Airdrie, Alberta, Josh began charting his path with the Swift Current Broncos in the WHL. In his draft season, he appeared in 64 games and tallied 36 points (16 goals, 20 assists), while also posting 119 penalty minutes and launching 163 shots on goal.

Davies is known as a hard-nosed forward with a physical edge — the kind of player who combines a scoring touch with relentless competitiveness. During the 2022-23 campaign, he crossed the 20-goal mark (20 goals, 14 assists) in 62 games, pacing his team in penalty minutes and ranking among their top shot producers.

His grit, speed, and offensive upside earned him the attention of NHL teams, and the Florida Panthers selected him in the 6th round, 186th overall, in the 2022 NHL Draft.
