A native of Örnsköldsvik, Sweden, Lucas Pettersson emerged from the renowned MoDo Hockey system. In the 2023-24 season, he made his mark at the J20 Nationell level with 27 goals and 54 points in 44 games, while also appearing in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) with MoDo.

Ranked among the top European prospects for his draft year, Pettersson was selected 35th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2024 NHL Draft. In 2025, he signed a three-year entry-level contract with Anaheim, while continuing his development in Sweden’s professional ranks.

Pettersson’s game is defined by his creativity, sharp hockey sense, and deceptive shot — qualities that make him a dynamic offensive threat capable of impacting games at both ends of the ice.
