Born in Sherwood, Oregon, Karsen Dorwart’s hockey roots trace through the USHL and Michigan State University. After competing in the USHL with the Sioux Falls Stampede, Dorwart committed to Michigan State, where he quickly rose to prominence, earning a role as alternate captain in his sophomore season.

Despite going undrafted, Dorwart’s steady growth and mature two-way game caught the attention of NHL organizations. On March 29, 2025, he signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Philadelphia Flyers, foregoing his final year of NCAA eligibility. Shortly thereafter, he made his NHL debut, capping off an inspiring journey from college standout to NHL player.
